Give your child the Pharmaton® Kiddi® advantage
Your child deserves to have the best chances for a successful, healthy future. Adequate nutrition is an essential part of this. For healthy physical development and neural performance, your child needs to get the right combination of nutrients in the right amounts. It is well known that even children who eat a varied diet can still show deficiencies in important nutrients, known as "micronutrients".
The importance of micronutrients
Micronutrients are vitamins, minerals, trace elements and other selected substances such as amino acids that all humans need to maintain strong, healthy bodies, fight off illness and achieve optimum mental performance. Not all foods contain the micronutrients that a growing child needs. Even fruits or vegetables can't always deliver adequate levels of micronutrients: long transport and storage times, processing and/or cooking can all reduce the amounts of micronutrients. Many parents find it difficult to know just how many micronutrients their children are really getting.
Clinical and sub-clinical deficiency
The term "clinical deficiency" is used to refer to a serious lack of particular nutrient: so serious, in fact, that the body shows observable signs of the problem. This happens after the body has not been getting the right amounts of nutrients and micronutrients for a long time. Before the problem becomes so advanced, however, deficiency of a nutrient already has a gradually worsening effect on the body. Although there are no clinical signs of the deficiency, the health of the body is still impaired: certain types of physical, mental or developmental performance may decrease. This is known as "sub-clinical deficiency", and may be a significant cause of behavioural and physical problems in childhood.
